A death investigation is underway following the Huntsville shooting

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAF) – A death investigation is underway after a shooting early Sunday morning in Huntsville, police say.

The incident happened around 4:40 a.m. on Lakeview Drive.

Huntsville Police Department officers on the scene told WAFF they are conducting a death investigation following the incident. Police said they arrived at the scene around 5 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators from HPD’s Major Crimes Unit also responded to the scene. The incident remains under active investigation.
