Strictly Come Dancing fans reacted enthusiastically to the public vote result as they insisted one couple should have danced for ‘the worst performance of the night’

Strictly speaking, fans were shocked by Sunday’s dance competition this week as they wondered why Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał weren’t in the bottom two.

The TOWIE star and his partner finished bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night but made it through in the public vote.

Instead, Wynne Evans and Katya Jones and Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe faced off in the dance competition, with Wynne being sent home by the judges.

Viewers, and Pete himself, were shocked when Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced he had made it.

“Pete on, that’s ridiculous. Someone must have spent a lot of money on the phone lines. The words dance the night away,” one viewer tweeted.

“Pete is safe above Montell?” asked another.

Strictly speaking, fans were shocked by Sunday’s dance-off this week as they wondered why Pete Wicks and Jowita weren’t in the bottom two.

Pete and Jowita both seemed shocked by the results, with the reality star later telling Claudia: “I can’t believe it.”

Jowita also revealed that “he had prepared a speech and everything.”

On Saturday, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell performed an American Smooth to Jump by Paul Anka, which impressed the judges and awarded them a whopping 37 out of 40.

Meanwhile, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec showed the judges their Paso Doble to Torn by Nathan Lanier, impressing once again and proving their place at the top of the leaderboard.

And while Tasha and Chris were riding high, it was Jamie, Wynne and Pete who found themselves in the bottom three.

Jamie and Michelle Tsiakkas took to the floor to perform a Jive to The Ketchup Song, with the actor descending on a giant bottle of ‘Strictly’s Tomato Ketchup’.

But despite the quirky opening, the duo lacked vibrance, with Motsi and Shirley telling Jamie he could have benefited from having ‘his weight in the right place’.

Wynne and Katya showed the judges their Charleston to the Torreadores from Bizet’s Carmen, with Wynne appropriately dressed as a matador.

Anton called the performance ‘extraordinary’, but added that Wynne looked exhausted two-thirds of the way through the finish and his form dipped as a result.

Craig disagreed about the loss of momentum, but still complained about flat-footedness and spin (or lack thereof).

The duo received a total of 31 points for their dance, putting them in second to last place, just ahead of Pete who did much worse.

The reality star and Jowita sang a Cha Cha to I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred.

The former TOWIE star, 36, told the audience he wanted to do the dance as a thank you to Jowita, before joking it was ‘the worst thank you in the world’.

Their dance scored a total of 27, including a paltry four from Craig, leaving him bottom of the judges’ leaderboard.
