Tennessee Titans star injured vs. Vikings

Tennessee Titans star injured vs. Vikings

So far in Week 12 NFL action today, things haven’t gone too well for the Tennessee titans. Taking on a tough guy Minnesota Vikings team is not an easy task and it has proven so far.

As of this writing, in the third quarter, the Titans trail the Vikings 16-3.

Unfortunately, Tennessee ultimately suffered what could have been a serious injury. Jeffery Simmons, the team’s top defensive tackle, was injured.

Simmons is the undisputed leader of the defense. Losing him for any length of time would be a huge blow to the Titans’ defense.

Going into this week’s game, Simmons had played in eight games for Tennessee. During those appearances, he had collected 31 total tackles, including three sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two passes defensed.

Those numbers show how valuable he is to the defense.

Hopefully this is nothing serious and he can return to this match. At the very least, the Titans are hoping he doesn’t miss anything this year.

Tennessee had a 2-7 record entering this week’s game. It seems very likely that they will end up taking a very high pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. While losing is never fun, it could be the best thing for the franchise in the long run.

Will Levis will be the main key figure to watch for the rest of the season. He has the rest of the year to prove he can be a franchise quarterback for the Titans. Should he fail to take his game to the next level, Tennessee may have to strongly consider replacing him.

That said, more updates on Simmons will be available in the near future. Ideally it’s nothing serious and he’ll be back today or next week.
