Motorcyclist dies after crash in Sun City West

SUN CITY WEST, AZ (AZFamily) — A man died Saturday evening after he was struck while riding his motorcycle in Sun City West.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area around 6 p.m R.H. Johnson and Meeker Boulevardsjust north of Grand Avenue, for a car-motorcycle collision.

A man on the motorcycle, later identified as 50-year-old Paul Scheiffele, died at the scene. He has not been identified. The woman driving the car was not injured.

MCSO says the disability does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but detectives are investigating.

The intersection was closed while crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the accident. It has since reopened.
