GRAP-IV in operation; Complete list of what is allowed and what is prohibited

In Delhi NCR, GRAP Stage 4 was implemented at 8 am today by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) after the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the “serious plus” category.

This decision was taken after an emergency meeting of the GRAP subcommittee on November 17, during which they examined current air quality measurements, weather data and IMD and IITM forecasts.

Delhi AQI falls in the ‘Severe Plus’ category

On Sunday, the NCR’s air pollution problem worsened. At 4 pm, Delhi’s average air quality index reached a critical level of 441, which falls in the ‘severe’ category, compared to 419 the day before.

According to CPCB data, air quality is steadily declining throughout the day. It was the fourth ‘tough’ day of the month with Delhi’s AQI rising from 421 at 9 am to 468 at 10 pm. The most recent ‘severe plus’ rating was recorded at 454 on November 13. After 447 on January 14, the 441 at 4pm is the second highest reading of the year.
