Fox attack on Jahangirnagar University leaves three injured

The incident took place between Tarzan and Prantik areas last night around 10 pm

At least three people were injured in a fox attack at Jahangirnagar University (JU) last night (Nov 17).

According to witnesses, the incident took place between Tarzan and Prantik areas around 10 p.m.

The injured have been identified as Shahriar, a 52nd batch of geological sciences student, Ansar member Ajay Hawlader and a local shopkeeper known as Jabbar, the university’s medical center confirmed.

Dr. Anisur Rahman, a doctor on duty at the medical center, said, “Three people have been injured so far. They have been advised to take vaccines. Shopkeeper Jabbar, who is in critical condition, has been referred to the Infectious Hospital. Disease Hospital in Mohakhali.”

Ansar member Ajay Hawlader, who was on duty at the time of the attack, said: “Around 10pm near Prantik Community Mosque, the fox suddenly bit me on my ankle over my boot. I have a small wound on my leg from the bite. I have already taken the vaccine from outside.”
