According to The first shooting was reported to the New Orleans Police Department around 3:38 p.m. and officers found eight victims at the scene with gunshot wounds and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. ninth victim “arrived at a local hospital via private transportation.”

NOPD Chief Anne Kirkpatrick told reporters at a press conference that a car was involved, “shots were fired into the crowd,” and all the victims from the first scene are still alive.

Police said a third victim also sought treatment at a hospital and is currently in “stable” condition.

Kirkpatrick said the second shooting occurred on a bridge along the parade route and since “there couldn’t be any cars on that bridge, we know the shooting occurred in the crowd.”
