2 seriously injured in Near West Side shooting: CPD

Two people were shot early Sunday morning while sitting in a car in the Little Italy section of University Village on the Near West Side, Chicago police said.

CHICAGO (WLS) — Two people were shot in a car early Sunday on the Near West Side, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened at approximately 1:59 a.m. in the 1300 block of South Loomis Street in University Village.

According to police, two victims were in a car when someone in a car started shooting at them.

A 25-year-old woman was shot in the head and right leg. She was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

A 25-year-old man was also rushed to hospital in serious condition after being shot in the chest.

No one in custody.
