Friends are still devastated by the hunt for the suspect accused of killing the UCCS music teacher

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) – The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is asking for the public’s help in locating a murder suspect.

According to the department, on August 7, CSPD received an unknown call for service in the 6400 block of Caddy Point. Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel found a deceased woman with at least one stab wound.

Later, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 54-year-old Haleh Abghari. El Paso County Assessor’s Office records show Abghari owns a home in the 6400 block of Caddy Point.

Abghari was one Music instructor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Colleagues tell KRDO13 that she was an integral part of the program. Friends say her life was a testament to her passion for art and human rights.

Police say they have identified 53-year-old Ceasar Lorenzo Wilson as the suspect in the murder. A warrant has been issued for his arrest for 2nd degree murder.

The announcement of Wilson as a suspect came as bittersweet news to Abghari’s loved ones.

While they’re glad a suspect has finally been named, they say it also came with the devastation of losing their friend again.

“I hope they get him. It’s hard to believe it’s already the middle of November but we’ve tried to move forward but there’s still quite a big absence and that’s going to be the case for a while,” he said. Glen Whitehead, a colleague of Abghari.
