Nagpur: Even 24 hours after the alleged attack on former Home Minister and NCP (SP) Anil Deshmukh, police could not identify or arrest the four attackers.

“I want to tell the BJP that no stone or bullet can kill Anil Deshmukh. But those who attacked me will not be spared,” Deshmukh said on Tuesday evening after being discharged from the private hospital in Nagpur, where he was being treated for superficial minor wounds, allegedly from fines hurled on his car on Monday evening during the quiet period leading up to the elections. .

The attack by four suspects reportedly took place at a dark place near Bel Phata when Deshmukh was going to Jalalkheda from Katol after the end of the public campaign.

His party spokesperson Pravin Kunte told the media that the attack was a conspiracy by the BJP to harm Anilbabu as they felt his Salil Deshmukh, who is contesting the Katol Assembly seat, was definitely winning.

Kunte blamed Katol BJP nominee Charansingh Thakur, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and MLC Parinay Fuke for the conspiracy to attack Anilbabu. Asked for reasons for the suspicion. Meanwhile, in Nagpur rural area, SP Harsh Poddar said at a specially convened press conference on Tuesday evening that investigations were underway. “We are looking for the four suspects who allegedly threw stones at Deshmukh’s car while shouting slogans,” he said, adding that forensic experts were also probing the case.
