Authorities name person killed in two-vehicle crash in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Authorities have named the person killed in a two-vehicle crash in Eau Claire

The driver killed in the crash has been identified as 74-year-old Paul Lisiecki of Holcombe, Wis., according to Eau Claire police.

Eau Claire Police say on November 14, 2024, around 1 p.m., Eau Claire Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Folsom Street and North Clairemont Avenue.

According to Eau Claire police, an investigation shows that a truck pulling a trailer full of railroad ties was traveling southbound on North Clairemont Avenue. At the same time, the driver of an SUV attempted to turn left onto Folsom Street from North Clairemont Avenue. The truck had a green light, while the SUV had a flashing yellow arrow. As the SUV made the turn, it was struck by the truck. The impact caused the truck to leave the road.

Officers found the driver of the SUV unconscious.

Eau Claire police say the driver, now identified as Lisiecki, was taken to the hospital but later died. The passenger in the SUV was also taken to the hospital with injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 25-year-old man from Chippewa Falls, was not injured.
