Justin Tranter and Google create AI-assisted ‘Silent Tension’

Superstar songwriter Justin Tranter is the latest musician to try out some AI music tools from Google and YouTube. They worked on a song called ‘Silent Tension’ with artist Blush and producer Shawn Wasabi using Google and YouTube’s ‘Music AI Sandbox’. unveiled in May this year.

Tranter’s involvement comes as no surprise, as they were one of three partner musicians (alongside Wyclef Jean and Marc Rebillet) spotlighted at that launch. Google has published a blog post And promotional video of Tranter’s latest experiment, which he said focused on “everything from creating and transforming new sounds to structuring songs and crafting lyrics that fit specific melodies.”

Naturally, the tone is very positive: “As a songwriter, I was naturally apprehensive at first – I am very protective of my community,” is Tranter’s quote in the post. But: “By working with Google and YouTube, it became clear that Music AI Sandbox empowers songwriters.”
