KANPUR: The body of a 23-year-old Dalit woman, who was missing since Tuesday evening, was found in a gunny bag in Karhal area of ​​Mainpuri on Wednesday when bypoll voting was taking place in the constituency.
While the deceased girl’s family did not mention any political angle regarding the murder in the written complaint submitted to the police, her father later told the media that his daughter was killed because she had told the alleged attackers that she would vote for the murder. UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary accused the SP of orchestrating the crime as the victim had expressed her intention to vote for the saffron party. “The SP has activated its crime cell after being convinced of losing the elections,” Chaudhary told reporters in Lucknow.
“The body of a 23-year-old girl from Karhal was found this morning. It was later sent for post-mortem. Her father has registered a case against two people. One of them is Prashant Yadav and the other is Mohan Katheria. of them have been arrested. Her parents have issued a statement saying their daughter was killed to prevent her from voting for the BJP.
“The complaint by the victim’s parents states that the accused, whom they knew, took their daughter to their office on a motorcycle. There, they forced her to consume alcohol after adding intoxicants to it, and then sexually assaulted her before strangling her. to death,” police said.
The case was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 123 (causing pain by poison), 70(1) (gang rape), 103(1) (murder) and 3(2)V SC/ST Act.
“As the victim belongs to a Scheduled Caste, the Karhal sub-divisional officer will conduct the investigation,” police said.
The girl’s father, while talking to the media, stated that Prashant, who delivers newspapers, told them three days ago to vote for the Samajwadi Party (SP). “My daughter told him that we would vote for the BJP. That’s why they took my daughter and killed her after raping her,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said, “We have complained several times to the Election Commission that the Samajwadi Party goons are threatening voters in rural areas. In Karhal, they have demonstrated the same by killing a Dalit girl.”
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya posted on social media that the frustration and desperation of the Samajwadi Party was clearly evident during the by-elections.
“The brutal murder of a Dalit girl in Karhal has exposed the SP’s reign of terror and dark deeds. False voting, the use of external disruptive elements and unfounded accusations against the election commission are part of the SP’s ‘policy of plunder’,” he wrote. on ‘X’.
