Real Madrid told to consider a crazy Casemiro reunion

Real Madrid have been urged to explore a deal for former player Casemiro in what would be a shock transfer, while Manchester United are struggling to get over the departure of Scott McTominay in the summer.

Casemiro was strongly linked to a move Man Utd during the summer after a string of poor performances during the 2023-2024 campaign. Erik ten Hag and United opted to keep Casemiro aside, despite Manuel Ugarte joining as his long-term replacement from Paris Saint-Germain.

Casemiro has lasted longer than Ten Hag, who was fired on October 28 and has now been replaced by Ruben Amorim.

The midfielder has scored three goals so far and has made 16 appearances in all competitions for United this season.

It remains to be seen whether Casemiro will play an important role under Amorim or remain on the bench.

Real Madrid have their own problems in midfield after the retirement of club icon Toni Kroos.

Spanish journalist Tomas Ronceroof which is the editor IF and also appears on, among others Cadena SER And El Chiringuitohas now proposed a stunning move.

He has recommended that Madrid re-sign Casemiro despite the Brazilian’s problems at Old Trafford.

After labeling Ten Hag a ‘disastrous coach’ and claiming Casemiro ‘has a white heart’ (for Madrid), Roncero added: ‘So let me daydream and tell you what I dreamed of. With Casemiro we would certainly have had a brutal second half of the season. Everyone played better with him next to him. For (Luka) Modric, (Jude) Bellingham or (Federico) Valverde he would be a relief…’

Casemiro is a hero at the Bernabéu and played a key role in Madrid winning many trophies, including five Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles in a seven-year period.

Nevertheless, it would be a big surprise if Real replaced Casemiro again. He is now 32 years old and looks to finish his career at the highest level before heading to MLS or Saudi Arabia.

Casemiro initially cost United £60m – potentially rising to £70m – when he joined from Madrid in August 2022.

Man Utd made a big summer mistake

While Casemiro remained at United during the last transfer window, he was a fellow midfielder McTominay continued.

To ease their financial problems, United sold their academy graduate to Napoli for €30 million (£25 million/$31.6 million).

McTominay has shocked fans in Italy by immediately establishing himself as one of Napoli’s top players.

Former Napoli, Chelsea and Italy great Gianfranco Zola has now praised the Serie A club for signing McTominay and questioned United’s decision to let him leave.

“One of the best signings of last summer,” he said of the Scotland international.

“Here, in England, they cannot understand how United let him go. They are struggling to understand it, maybe it is a choice because of Financial Fair Play. It is not well digested.”

Zola is the latest observer to question United’s methods in the transfer market. In recent months they have been criticized for the signings of players such as Antony and Joshua Zirkzee.

Earlier this month, United cult hero Federico Macheda spoke admitted he was ‘surprised’ when the Red Devils approved the sale of McTominay.
