Tractor-trailer catches fire after rollover on I-295 in Lansdowne

LANSDOWNE, Md. – A tractor-trailer caught fire Thursday morning after overturning on I-295.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. near the I-895 exit in Lansdowne.

According to the Baltimore County Fire Department, the truck was leaking an unknown chemical, prompting a hazardous materials response.

Turns out the leak wasn’t a dangerous threat. Employees have now extinguished the fire.

The truck driver was able to escape.

They were taken to hospital with minor injuries together with a firefighter.

All southbound lanes of I-295 remain closed for cleanup.
