Bishop TD Jakes ‘stable’ after health incident during Sunday sermon

Bishop TD Jakes, 67, had what his church described as a “minor health incident” during a sermon Sunday.

The famous megachurch pastor was seen to interrupt his sermon and shook as people approached him on stage images posted on social media.

The Potter’s House Church, the non-denominational Christian church in Dallas, Texas led by Jakes, where he preached on Sunday, released a statement on Jakes’ official X account He said he received “immediate medical attention” after the sermon.

“Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals,” the statement said.

Jakes appeared in one Instagram post promoting the service before it started at 9 a.m. CT.

USA TODAY reached out to The Potter’s House Sunday for more information and did not immediately receive a response.

The church was founded in 1996 and has more than 30,000 membersaccording to his website.
