Market Drayton councilors will consider the installation of a floral display at a meeting where next year’s budget will be discussed

Market Drayton There will be a meeting of the city council’s Services and Facilities Committee on Thursday, where a wide range of topics will be discussed.

The one from the meeting agenda includes considering a quote for the supply and installation of a floral display in the North Shropshire village.

The agenda for the meeting states that councilors will also consider increasing the water fee charged to local businesses that are given a hanging basket outside their business premises by the council.

Elsewhere, council members will consider whether to continue paying for youth club sessions for juniors and seniors and will consider a request from a local resident to plant some trees on the lawn surrounding the Hampon Drive playground.

Importantly, Market Drayton Town Council will consider and approve the Services and Facilities Committee’s draft budget for 2025-2026.

Updates will also be provided around Towers Lawn toilets and plans submitted for refurbishment.

Meanwhile, after hundreds of people, there is talk of another successful Festival of Lights Market Drayton’s Christmas lights came on.

Members of the public are invited to listen to the meeting online and can also ask the Council questions about local issues – provided they notify the City Clerk of their intention to do so at 12 noon the day before the meeting.
