Crash at the state line backs up for miles on I-20

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A traffic accident near the state line is slowing traffic on westbound Interstate 20.

All lanes were closed between 9:00 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. as tow trucks attempted to clear the highway of the accident, but were cleared around 9:33 a.m.

As of 9:37 a.m., traffic is backed up most of the way to Five Notch Road in Aiken County

According to Richmond County dispatchers, the single-vehicle crash caused injuries on the westbound side of the Riverwatch Parkway exit.

It was reported at 8:23 a.m. and crews were still on scene at 9:06 a.m
