A message shared on X claims to show that Israeli Army (IDF) troops have been killed in Lebanon.

Verdict: misleading

Most IDF troops were killed at Nahal Oz during the October 7 attacks. One was killed in Gaza after being taken hostage.

Fact check:

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Reuters.

Social media users claim to show a list of IDF troops killed in Lebanon, where Israel is fighting Hezbollah. The troop list consists of all women. (RELATED: No, This Video Doesn’t Show Rachel Levine as a Pagan Priest)

This claim is misleading. Most troops were killed in Nahal Oz, an Israeli military base and not Lebanon Misbar. Nahal Oz was attacked by Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups on October 7, and they were killed during the fighting, the newspaper said.

One of the troops, Noa Marciano, was taken hostage during the attack and later died in Gaza, police said Jerusalem Post. Her parents said she was killed by a Gaza doctor who failed to treat her wounds suffered after a bombardment by the Israeli air force hit Al-Shifa hospital, the newspaper said.

According to Israeli sources, 52 Israeli troops were killed during the fighting at Nahal Oz Ynet news. Several other IDF troops were taken hostage, with one rescued and others remaining in captivity, the source said.
