Man accused of bomb fraud after incident at US embassy in London

A 43-year-old man has been charged with bombing after the bombing US The embassy was closed last week due to reports of a suspicious package.

Daniel Parmenter of Kildare Terrace, west Londonhas been charged with a bomb attack following the incident outside the US embassy on Friday morning.

The embassy was immediately placed on lockdown as armed police carried out a controlled explosion of the object within a cordoned off area, which reportedly caused a loud bang.

Parmenter was arrested on Sunday, November 24, after a search at his home address. He appeared at Ealing Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 25.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, December 23. There are currently no links between this investigation and similar incidents involving reported suspicious packages in recent days.
