Gwen Stefani’s country-inspired album BOMBS only sold 13,000 copies after being sold on Home Shopping Network

Gwen Stefani’s latest album has soared on the charts after selling just 13,000 copies after causing division among fans when she sold it on the Home Shopping Network.

The 55-year-old No Doubt frontwoman released her fifth solo studio album Bouquet last week, which will debut at No. 95 on the Billboard 200 this week.

South Korean boy band ATEEZ topped the charts with their second No. 1 album titled GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 with 179,000 copies sold.

It was undoubtedly a disappointing debut as her first album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. started at number 7 on the Billboard 200 in November 2004.

2006’s The Sweet Escape started at No. 3, 2016’s This Is What The Truth Feels Like debuted at No. 1, and 2017’s You Make It Feel Like Christmas debuted at No. 51 on the Billboard 200.

This came a week after dividing fans by selling her new album on the Home Shopping Network, just weeks after Coldplay was slammed for selling theirs on QVC.

Gwen Stefani’s latest album is a hit on the charts as it has sold just 13,000 copies while set to debut at No. 95 on the Billboard 200 this week.

The singer – who recently cheered on her son at a football match – appeared live on the Home Shopping Network on Tuesday.

She was there to sell her fifth solo studio album – titled Bouquet – while sitting at the table for half an hour with presenter Nicole Hickl.

Not only did the music star talk about the album, but it also included pre-recorded performances of some new songs from the album.

Being a rather unconventional way to sell an album – especially with the advent of streaming – the move received mixed reactions from her fans.

One of Gwen’s loyal followers on X (formally Twitter) posted a screenshot of her performance on HSN with some rather scathing commentary.

The user wrote, “I never want to hear another fandom complain about their favorites’ careers again.

‘Gwen Stefani releases her album on HSN. I have been in the trenches for this woman.”

Some comments on the polarizing post blamed Gwen’s 48-year-old country star husband Blake Shelton for the move.

This came after the 55-year-old No Doubt frontwoman divided fans by selling her new album on the Home Shopping Network, just weeks after Coldplay were slammed for selling theirs on QVC.

“And honestly, anyone else’s is a SMASH!!!! Actually her best song of this entire ‘era’.’

Another said: ‘No one has faced more trials than those of us who defended the music that came out when she met Blake Shelton’

Others felt that selling the album on HSN was a good move.

One X user wrote: ‘It’s actually a smart strategy. All those old ladies watching her on The Voice are going to eat this up.”

Last month, Coldplay was promoted on social media when they made a similar move to promote their tenth album, Moon Music, on home shopping channel QVC.

The sales segment, which featured all four members of the group playing various songs from the new record, sent X users into a frenzy as they expressed their shock at seeing the British rock band on the network.

“Why the hell are Coldplay performing live on QVC?!” tweeted one stunned viewer.

Another wrote: ‘Holy that QVC shows everything that is wrong with capitalist consumerism with Coldplay. The music is good.’

A third called the segment “unhinged.”

The performance even caused some of the group’s fans to question their “artistic integrity” or cause their brains to “shut down.”

“Yesterday my wife and I saw Coldplay perform live on QVC and our jaws are still on the floor. What happened to artistic integrity?’ asked an X user.
