Bullet hits California R-1 school, believed to be a hunting accident

California R-1 School officials said a fighter bullet caused a shattered trophy case at their school.

In a post on their district’s Facebook page, Superintendent Daniel Williams said they found the broken glass mid-morning Saturday.

They then found a bullet hole in the top corner of a window to the high school common area.

Williams’ post states that police came to investigate.

They believed the bullet came from a deer hunter and traveled a long distance.

Williams said it appeared to be an accident, and not a targeted shooting at the high school or district.
