Men charged after stealing more than $13,000 from a York department store, police say

YORK, Neb. (KOLN) – Three men have been charged after stealing more than $13,000 worth of appliances from a store in York.

On Thursday, officers were called to a home near East 13th Street and North Burlington Avenue on reports that a woman had been drugged by a man.

The woman alleged that 49-year-old Jason Fisher drugged her. During the investigation, no evidence was found that she had been drugged, but she said the man stole her television and microwave.

Fisher was interviewed by police and determined he was involved in the theft of the devices and other items, according to an arrest affidavit.

Fisher said he drove McLean Christansen and Lee Christansen to Lichti’s Furniture and Appliance Warehouse in September 2024.

Police believe Lee used a code from when he worked at the store to enter the building. Fisher stayed outside while the two men loaded a mattress, two televisions and a microwave into a truck before being taken home, police wrote.

Fisher was charged with one count of burglary and taken into custody.

After interviewing Lee Christiansen, officers located the stolen mattress and confirmed Fisher and McLean’s involvement in the theft.

Lee Christiansen was charged with theft by unlawful taking of property valued at $5,000 or more and burglary.

Mclean was later found and arrested in the burglary and theft of items worth more than $5,000.
