Government not involved in excavation of Veyangoda treasures: Minister – Breaking News

Colombo, Nov 26 (Daily Mirror) – The government was not involved in the excavations for treasures near Wandurawa Rajamaha Vihara in Veyangoda, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said today.

He told the weekly briefing to announce cabinet decisions that the excavations were carried out on the orders of the Attanagalle Magistrate.

The excavation ended without any discovery of treasures or objects of archaeological value.
