The new Darklight backpack is described as “a thoughtfully designed solution for photographers who value adaptability, organization and durability, combining tactical precision with everyday usability.” The standout feature is a laser-cut MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) panel with webbing rails providing endless versatility for attaching additional accessories, tools or Think Tank’s modular bags. An opening back panel provides secure access to the main compartment, while also allowing the bag to be accessed without having to put it down – useful when the ground is wet or muddy. The harness itself is made of air mesh for extra breathability and comfort in all weather conditions, and there is also a removable hip belt.

Inside, adjustable dividers accommodate a variety of items, while there are a number of easy-access pockets for a laptop, tablet and smaller accessories. Outside there is a side pocket where you can store a water bottle or tripod. The Darklight backpack is available in two sizes: the smaller 14-liter capacity is more than enough for a full-frame mirrorless body with an attached 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, along with 1-3 additional lenses and an 8-inch tablet. Alternatively, the larger 20L version can hold two bodies – both with lenses attached – as well as 2-3 additional lenses, a 10-inch tablet and a 16-inch laptop. Both capacities are said to meet “most” airlines’ carry-on size limits, and they also come with a rain cover.

In addition to the new Darklight backpack, Think Tank has unveiled the Airport Navigator V2.0 and Airport Roller Derby V2.0 roller bags. The compact Airport Navigator V2.0 is designed for quick access on the go, with easy-access openings on the top and front. Inside, there’s room for two camera bodies side by side, each with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens on top. Because it is so compact, the Airport Navigator 2.0 meets the carry-on requirements of most airlines.

The new V2.0 model is an update to the original Airport Navigator and gets a new 8-wheel roller design for smoother maneuverability. The lid and computer compartment now feature lockable zippers, there is a Travel Sentry ID tag to aid in retrieval should the bag ever be lost, and the lid of the bag now features a horizontal tripod mount.

There’s room inside for a 16-inch laptop and a large tablet, while the expandable side pockets are designed for water bottles. The bag also has a shoulder strap for times when rolling isn’t practical, and Think Tank has added a handle to the base to assist with loading into the overhead bin.

The second new roller bag update is the Airport Roller Derby V2.0. The size fits two camera bodies with lenses up to 400mm f/2.8 (not attached). Like the Airport Navigator V2.0, the Airport Roller Derby’s V2.0 updates include lockable zippers and a Travel Sentry ID tag, and Think Tank even angled the bag 2 degrees for better balance. In addition to camera storage, the Airport Roller Derby V2.0 also has pockets for a 16-inch laptop and a large tablet, interior mesh pockets to store small accessories, and an expandable side pocket for a water bottle or tripod. Smooth rolling is ensured by four dual-wheel casters that allow the bag to be rolled upright, while larger rear wheels allow for smoother tilting of the bag. All wheels are also user replaceable to extend the life of the bag.

This latest batch of Think Tank bags will be available in December. The 14-liter Darklight backpack costs $169.75 and the 20-liter capacity costs $199.75. Expect to pay $349.75 for the Airport Navigator V2.0, and $429.75 for the Airport Roller Derby V2.0.
