Police have identified and charged a third suspect believed to have been involved in a theft at a car dealership in April, according to court records.

Jose Garcia-Lopez, 18, of Severna Park, Maryland, now faces charges of theft, burglary and criminal mischief in connection with the April 26, 2024, theft of two vehicles from the Renn Kirby Chevrolet showroom in Straban Township, according to the court documents filed on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Garcia-Lopez is the third defendant to be charged in connection with the burglary, following Jefferson Ventura, 18, and London Flores, 19, both of Silver Spring, Maryland, who were filed with similar charges on July 23, 2024.

According to affidavits of probable cause, Flores, Ventura and Lopez were allegedly involved in the theft of a silver 2024 Chevrolet Corvette, valued at $88,640, and a yellow 2018 ZL1 convertible Camaro, valued at $58,500.

The affidavit states that on April 26, 2024, around 12:06 a.m., three suspects in a dark blue Dodge Challenger Hellcat pulled into the Renn Kirby Chevrolet lot on Expedition Trail in Straban Township, just outside Gettysburg.

At the time of the July indictment, Garcia-Lopez had not yet been identified and was listed as an “unidentified third party co-defendant.” The affidavit against Lopez now identifies him as the backseat passenger of the Dodge Challenger when the trio arrived.

Garcia-Lopez was identified through cellphone warrants, according to the affidavit against him.

Garcia-Lopez’s phone was first identified in the area of ​​a robbery in Howard County, the affidavit states, and was later identified through a “tower dump warrant” as being present during the Gettysburg robbery.

On August 8, 2024, Pennsylvania State Police received data taken from Ventura’s cell phone, the affidavit against Lopez states, which found messages between Ventura, Garcia-Lopez and Flores.

Ventura and Flores were extradited from Maryland after the pair was detained in Montgomery County, and remain incarcerated in the Adams County Prison.

Garcia-Lopez was indicted in Maryland on charges related to a carjacking in Howard County and was released on November 4, 2024.

Garcia-Lopez has not yet been charged in connection with the Pennsylvania charges, according to court records.
