Cyber ​​attacks against Russia are growing in intensity and sophistication year after year – FSB – Military and Defense

The number, intensity and sophistication of computer attacks on Russia’s critical information infrastructure are increasing every year, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said at the twentieth meeting of the Meeting of Heads of Security and Intelligence Services of the CIS countries.

He stated that the subversive activities of foreign security services and criminal hacker groups in cyberspace pose a global threat. “Every year we witness an increase in the number, intensity and sophistication of cyber attacks that target critical information infrastructure, with the aim of disabling it or gaining access to classified information. Advanced digital solutions are becoming increasingly common used in its planning and implementation,” he said.

Bortnikov emphasized the active use of artificial intelligence technologies in developing and implementing targeted psychological measures. He noted that the illegal trade in personal data has reached unprecedented levels, putting citizens at risk of becoming involved in terrorist, extremist and other illegal activities or falling victim to fraud schemes.
