Man released on bail after Ladbroke Grove car shooting seriously injured eight-year-old girl | British news

A 22-year-old man has been released on bail following a shooting in west London that seriously injured an eight-year-old girl and her father.

Witnesses described an attacker opening fire directly at a car just after 5.30pm on Sunday during the incident on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove.

The eight-year-old girl underwent surgery on Monday and is now in a stable condition. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Her 34-year-old father suffered potentially life-changing injuries, while a two-year-old child and a 32-year-old woman were unharmed.

Sky News understands the victims are all part of the same family.

The suspect had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, but police said he had now been released on bail until February pending further investigations.

The circumstances and motive are being investigated.

Chief Inspector Owen Renowden called the shooting “a horrific incident in which two people were seriously injured”.

He said: “There will be a continued presence of our community policing teams over the coming days and we are also working closely with our partners to provide additional reassurance.”
