Fugitive on FBI’s most wanted list caught in Wales | UK | News

A fugitive who has been on the FBI’s most wanted terrorist list for more than two decades has been captured in North Wales, the US agency announced.

Daniel Andreas San Diego, 46, was wanted in connection with two animal rights-related bombings in the San Francisco area in 2003. He was later placed on the FBI’s most wanted terrorist list in 2009.

In a statement announcing the fugitive’s arrest, FBI Director Christopher Wray said: “The arrest of Daniel San Diego after more than two decades as a fugitive from two bombings in the San Francisco area shows that no matter how long it takes lasts, the FBI will find you and hold you accountable.

“There is a right way and a wrong way to express your opinion in our country, and turning to violence and destruction of property is not the right way.”

According to to CBS NewsSan Diego is said to have planted tow bombs at the offices of Chiron Inc. in Emeryville, California, in August 2003.

The first bomb exploded early in the morning and the second was scheduled to go off an hour after the first blast, a tactic the FBI could have intended to kill or injure first responders. The second bomb was found and cleared before it could go off.

A month later, he allegedly planted another device wrapped in nails at a company in Pleasaton, also in California, that did not go off.
