Man arrested after alleged murder on Florida golf course: police

A suspect is in custody after allegedly killing a man at a Florida golf course on Monday.

Junior Boucher, 36, is charged with first-degree murder for the death of the man, identified by police as Brian Hiltebeitel, at Sandhill Crane Golf Club in West Palm Beach.

A witness said he heard the victim yell “he’s trying to kill me” as he ran from Boucher, who was allegedly waving a golf club, according to a Palm Beach Gardens police affidavit.

According to police, Boucher began hitting Hiltebeitel with the golf club, hitting him in the head and then chasing him to a pond on the first hole of the golf course.

He allegedly continued to hit Hiltebeitel in the pond, and while in the water, “he jumped on top of Hiltebeitel and appeared to strangle him,” the police report said.

After Hiltebeitel stopped moving, Boucher allegedly punched him in the head several more times, police said in the affidavit.

Boucher allegedly attempted to flee the scene when officers arrived, according to the affidavit, and was taken into custody “only after the use of an electronic surveillance weapon.”

Officers pulled Hiltebeitel from the pond, where he was observed with “multiple deep lacerations to the back of his head and to his body.”

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
