Hush massacre suspect now charged with killing five others in Birmingham mass shooting and burglary

The man accused of killing four people outside a hookah lounge in Five Points South in September, and two others in the days before and after, is now accused of killing four people in another mass shooting in Birmingham in July and a another man killed during a burglary in August.

Damien McDaniel III, 22, of Fairfield, was charged Nov. 22 in a drive-by shooting at an adult birthday party in Birmingham that killed four people and injured nine others on July 13.

Birmingham police identified the slain victims as Angela Weatherspoon, 56, of Center Point, Markeisha Gettings, 42, of Birmingham, Stevie McGhee, 39, of Birmingham, and Lerandus Anderson, 24, of Center Point.

McDaniel is charged with 10 counts of first-degree assault in the July 13 shooting, which occurred during a birthday party at a nightclub.

McDaniel is now also charged with murder during a burglary in the city August 13: Shooting death of Charlie Moore, 61.

McDaniel was already in prison for the September 21 death Carlos McCain, 27, Roderick Lynn Patterson Jr., 26, Anitra Holloman, 21, and Tahj Booker27. These four were killed and 17 others were injured in the Five Points South shooting.

McDaniel is also charged with murder on September 19 Diontrant Tinae Brownshot and killed a 35-year-old mother who police said was an innocent bystander at 604 Bar and Lounge on Ninth Street North.

McDaniel faces another murder charge for the robbery that resulted in the shooting death 32-year-old Jamarcus McIntyrewho died in a hail of gunfire in the 700 block of 81st Place South less than 24 hours after the Five Points South shooting.
