Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his cabinet is close to approving a ceasefire deal to suspend fighting with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The deal was brokered by US President Joe Biden and would give Israel 60 days to withdraw its troops.

More than 3,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on the country since mid-September.

But Netanyahu warned that any violation of the deal by Hezbollah would cause Israel to “react sternly.”
