KOUNTZE, Texas (WOWT) – An Omaha man accused of sexually exploiting a teenager online was recorded this week at a Texas prison.
Brandon Sieg, 29, of Omaha, appeared in court in Hardin County, Texas, where he faced one count of sexual performance of a child. He was initially arrested in Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
An investigator with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office first began looking into this case when the department received a complaint that a 13-year-old boy was exchanging inappropriate messages with an adult.
Court documents detail a disturbing case of seduction, in which Sieg is accused of paying the child to send him several sexually explicit photos and videos. Electronic payment records show Sieg sent the child nearly $200 via CashApp between May 24 and June 6, 2024.
Sieg is also accused of telling the child that he would make arrangements to travel to Texas to watch the boy’s football games and buy a hotel room so the two could spend time together. The arrest warrant does not show that Sieg carried out this plan.
A consensual search of the child’s cell phone revealed the materials he described sending to Sieg. Investigators obtained a search warrant for Sieg’s Snapchat account to view the sexually explicit content he had received, but the photos and videos could not be recovered because Sieg had deleted them.
Sieg has posted $100,000 bail for his release from the Hardin County Jail as he awaits his next court appearance.
