New Jersey woman Marijuana Uber Eats burrito – American woman finds marijuana instead of burrito in package she ordered from Uber Eats

A New Jersey driver was shocked when she received her Uber Eats delivery to discover that her food order wasn’t the burrito she expected: It was an ounce of marijuana wrapped in foil.

The incident took place in Washington Township, Camden County, as reported by the New York Post (NYP). The local police are currently investigating the matter.

According to the report, the delivery person, who was unaware of the illegal package, had picked up the order in Lindenwold on Friday evening. It seemed to contain a standard meal: a burrito, soup and a bottle of water.

However, as she drove to her destination in Glassboro, an unmistakable smell caught her attention.

“She believed something smelled wrong with her delivery package. She thought it smelled like marijuana,” Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik said in a statement, as reported by NYP.

Suspicious about the contents of the package, the driver stopped and contacted authorities. Upon inspection, officers discovered that the foil-wrapped item contained no meat, beans or rice, but a large zip-lock bag filled with raw marijuana.

“There was no food in that burrito,” Chef Gurcsik said, adding, “It was an ounce of marijuana.”

Photos released by police showed the drugs were clumsily packaged to mimic a burrito. Investigators suspect that someone tried to abuse Uber’s package delivery feature, a service that is strictly prohibited for transporting drugs, alcohol or medication.

According to NYP, an Uber spokesperson described the incident as “deeply disturbing” and praised the driver for immediately alerting local authorities. They urged other drivers to report similar suspicious deliveries.
