Man accused in court of killing 17-year-old motorcyclist with a Range Rover and leaving his friend in a wheelchair

Danny Francis, aged 28, is accused of causing the death of 17-year-old Ben Worrall and seriously injuring his friend Nathan Fountain by dangerous driving.

He is also accused of causing death by driving carelessly while exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit.

Francis’ gray Range Rover Sport was involved in an accident with a group of motorcycles on the A458 between Rowton and Cardeston Park junction, near Shrewsbury.

Several of Mr Worrall’s relatives and friends were present at Telford Magistrates Court, including his father Mark, who clung to his late son’s teddy bear in the public gallery.

Mr Fountain, who Francis is accused of seriously injuring, arrived in the courtroom in a wheelchair.
