The series has been telling the journey of the beloved pirates for 25 years and has many arcs with an immersive world featuring some of the shonen genre’s best villains. From Arlong to Kaido, they all left a lasting impression on viewers.

One name tops the list: Donquixote Doflamingo. Unlike the other villains featured in the series, he was very different as Oda-Sensei decided to make him pure evil who enjoyed tormenting his enemies. While he wasn’t afraid of the Marine Hero, he was afraid of his female version, who went out of her way to arrest him.

Doflamingo was afraid of one Marine for all the right reasons

In the world of One piece, the sheer number of villains created by Eiichiro Oda to act as obstacles to give Luffy character growth is absolutely insane. While some have been forgotten because the show has been on for so long. However, for fans it is impossible to forget Donquixote Doflamingo, the former king of Dressrosa.

From his first appearance in Punk Hazard, he sent shivers down the spines of the entire G-5 and the fans. Despite not being the strongest name in the entire series, he was certainly the worst, committing the most heinous crimes without showing any remorse for his actions.

However, for a personality like his, he was only afraid of two names. According to an anime creator (@tamirvers), they explained what the former Heavenly Dragon was afraid of Kaido because he is the “strongest being” on land and in the air. Therefore, he would make sure to deliver the SMILE Devil Fruits to him.

However, the other name he’s afraid of would definitely surprise the fandom. The creator stated that Tsuru, the female version of Monkey D. Garp, sent shivers down the spine of Doflamingo, who “a certain amount of respect for her.”

The influencer explained that before the captain of the Donquixote Pirates earned his status as Warlord of the Sea, Tsuru was constantly pursuing him.

So from the moment he lost his status, she came after him and even went out of her way to arrest him. This revelation caught the entire fandom by surprise as they couldn’t fathom that a name like Doflamingo was afraid of someone from the Marines.

One piece Fans were surprised to hear that Doffy was afraid of Tsuru

Throughout the Dressrosa Arc, fans were stunned to see his traumatic backstory, which made him nothing but a stone-cold evil, the greatest anarchist in the entire series. Time and time again we witnessed how he didn’t hesitate to kill people and treat them like toys for his entertainment.

However, when they heard that he was afraid of Tsuru, they were stunned because his status and personality showed that he was a man without fear. The fans left their opinions in the comments, showing their admiration for Garp’s colleague.

@francisugboko commented, “Sometimes it’s the ones who look less threatening that are the real monsters.”

@mohamedzoulali5755 commented, “Wasn’t surprised by this, when Doffy controlled soldiers as puppets in the manga, Tsuru told him to ‘just be a good boy'”

@Glomunna1400 commented, “Due to Doffy’s nature of evil and manipulation, Tsuru would be the perfect foil as her powers can literally wash evil away from you and she is an OG.”

@3Rayfire commented: ‘I knew it was Tsuru. Unlike other people, when Tsuru appears, he dives. She must have really destroyed him the first time they went head-to-head.”

@Houd_Vast responded, “I think her devil fruit would be the most feared by pirates because it essentially changes you”

@ace_r_ola commented, “Tsuru’s grandchild actually joined the Marines, take that Garp with you.”

While much of her hasn’t been shown in the anime series yet, it would be quite interesting if Oda-Sensei shows more of her in the near future so that fans can understand how strong she was in her prime.

One piece can be streamed on Netflix.
