King’s Mill Hospital warns about emergency department

The hospital asked patients to check whether their condition was an emergency before going to the hospital.

Instead, people should consider visiting 111.NHS.uk, calling 111 for advice, speaking to a pharmacist or contacting their GP practice during opening hours, a spokesperson said.

The statement added: “If you have a serious injury or life-threatening condition, we are here for you – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

In addition, families of patients who are ready to be discharged are asked to help them get home. Moreover, approximately one in seven beds could have become available on Tuesday evening.
