Breakdown of Packers’ latest injury report from Week 13 vs. Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers ruled out cornerback Jaire Alexander, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and receiver Romeo Doubs and listed tight end John FitzPatrick, linebacker Isaiah McDuffie and center Josh Myers as questionable on the final injury report before facing the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Night in Week 13 .

How does the injury situation affect the holidays?

Here’s an in-depth look at the Packers’ latest injury report ahead of Week 13:

Off (3)

CB Jaire Alexander (knee): He did not participate during the fieldwork on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Alexander aggravated a knee ligament injury in Chicago and likely needed a week or two to get back on the practice field. It’s possible he returns next Thursday to play against the Lions. Expect to see more of Carrington Valentine, Keisean Nixon and Eric Stokes at cornerback.

LB Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring): The rookie injured his hamstring during training last Wednesday, making it unlikely that he would be back in time for a game eight days later. He will miss his second game in a row. The Packers need Quay Walker, Eric Wilson and possibly even rookie Ty’Ron Hopper to handle the rush at linebacker.

WR Romeo Doubs (concussion): Getting through the league’s concussion protocol in three days was always going to be a big gamble for Doubs, who suffered the head injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s win over the 49ers. He will miss his second game of the year and the first due to injury. Expect Donyatvion Wicks, Bo Melton and Malik Heath to take more snaps around Christian Watson and Jayden Reed at receiver.

Doubtful (3)

TE John FitzPatrick (back): He’s the No. 3 tight end, so the Packers would be left short at the position if he can’t go. Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims handle most of the duties at tight end, but FitzPatrick has made a few appearances on offense and special teams in the past month.

LB Isaiah McDuffie (single): A potentially big one, since Cooper is out. McDuffie has started all 11 games at linebacker for the Packers this season. If he can’t go, the Packers would be down to three healthy linebackers on Thursday night.

C Josh Myers (chest): The Packers project Myers as a full participant on Wednesday, so there’s a good chance he plays Thursday. He struggled with a wrist injury last week and will now deal with a chest injury. Elgton Jenkins is the backup at center.

No status indication

The following players do not have a status designation and are available to play against the Dolphins on Thursday: DL Kenny Clark, RB Josh Jacobs, OL Elgton Jenkins, S Xavier McKinney, LT Rasheed Walker.

McKinney missed Tuesday with a personal issue but returned as a full participant on Wednesday. Clark, Jacobs and Jenkins were given veteran rest to start the week.

Dolphin injury report

The Dolphins signed cornerback Kendall Fuller, linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. and linebacker Tyus Bowser out. Left tackle Terron Armstead is questionable to play with an ankle injury, but he has played through the issue in back-to-back games. While Miami’s injury report was 15 players long at the start of the week, only four players have playing status designations as of Thursday. Armstead is the big one, but expect him to play. Rookie Storm Duck can start as cornerback opposite Jalen Ramsey.
