LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The man shot and killed on the Las Vegas Strip Monday has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s office as Michael Wilmot, 50, of Las Vegas. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the torso.

Wilmot, an Uber driver who had two passengers in his vehicle, was shot during a road rage incident after he got out of the vehicle, walked to the other car and banged on the driver’s side window, Las Vegas police said.

The shooting on November 25 took place in front of the Palazzo in the Venetian resort. Police said Wilmot and the suspect, a 24-year-old woman who has not been publicly identified, were involved in a road rage incident.

After the shooting, police said the woman left the scene before officers arrived. Police identified the suspect’s license plate number and found her at a home near Washington Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive, where she was taken into custody.

Metro said it has referred the investigation to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for self-defense review.
