Principal, principal, teacher and Dy-Ranger arrested for brutal rape of minor

In a shocking incident in Chhattisgarh’s Manendragarh Chirmiri-Bharatpur (MCB) district, a 17-year-old girl studying in class 11 was brutally raped by a group comprising a principal, a principal, a teacher and a deputy forest officer. The suspect is said to have blackmailed the victim and repeatedly sexually assaulted him.

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Janakpur police station. According to police reports, the principal, Ravendra Kushwaha, 48, lured the girl on November 15 with the promise of helping her study and pass the class exam. He took her to the house of teacher Kushal Singh Parihar (50), where another suspect, Ashok Kushwaha (55), the principal of Devgarh Higher Secondary School, was already present. While entering the house, the victim was attacked by the three men, who filmed the entire sexual assault incident and threatened her to make it viral and also kill her if she reported the incident to anyone, including the police.

On November 22, around 5 p.m., Kushal Singh Parihar forcibly abducted the victim near a bus stand and took her to the house of Deputy Forest Officer Banwari Singh, where she again committed the barbaric act of gang rape. The victim was brutally sexually assaulted by the four men including the Dy-Ranger and the suspect who had previously raped her and filmed the video to blackmail her.

Traumatized by the repeated abuse, the girl eventually confided in her mother, leading to a police complaint filed on November 26. Police responded quickly, arrested all four suspects and were sent to prison on judicial remand.

In light of these events, the Chhattisgarh Department of Public Instruction (DPI) took immediate action. DPI Divya Umesh Mishra suspended Ashok Kushwaha, Kushal Singh Parihar and Ravendra Kushwaha, while Surguja PCCF V. Mateswaran suspended Deputy Ranger Banwari Singh. Police had filed an FIR against all the accused and the case is under investigation, Janakpur SHO said.
