Outpatient diabetes self-management classes are offered

BRIDGTON – This December, Bridgton Hospital will offer a series of outpatient self-management classes to educate and empower people with diabetes to live well and manage the disease effectively. The cost of these classes is covered by most insurance plans, including MaineCare and Medicare.

Lesson dates:

December 10, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

December 17, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

December 19, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Lessons include: An Overview of Diabetes, Exercise and Diabetes, Medication, Goal Setting and Problem Solving, and Nutrition Management
Participants must:

  • Register in advance
  • Being able to attend all three classes
  • Get a referral from their GP
  • Participate in one-on-one nutritional counseling
