Srishti Tuli’s family has accused her boyfriend of harassment

What’s the story

The family of 25 year old Air India pilot Srishti Tuli, who was found dead in her rented house in Mumbai‘s Marol area has accused her boyfriend Aditya Pandit of intimidation and manipulation.

Her uncle Vivek Tuli said she spoke cheerfully to her mother and aunt just 15 minutes before she was found dead.

‘The police say she committed suicide… What did he do to get her this far? What did he tell her? What has he done?’ Tuli said NDTV.

Boyfriend arrested, threatens suicide

Pandit has been arrested on charges of abetment to suicide.

According to police reports, he claimed Tuli called him and threatened to end her life as he drove there Faridabad.

He returned to Mumbai and found her flat door locked. With the help of another female pilot and a keysmith, he opened the door and found Tuli hanging by a data cable.

She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Family claims intimidation and manipulation by boyfriend

Tuli met Pandit during a commercial flying course in Delhi two years ago.

While she completed the course and moved to Mumbai last year after getting her pilot’s license, Pandit quit and stayed in Faridabad.

The family claims that Pandit would publicly humiliate Tuli and extort money from her.

They cited a transaction of ₹65,000 from Tuli’s account to Pandit’s family around Diwali as evidence.

Family suspects foul play in pilot’s death

The family also claims that Pandit pressured Tuli to stop eating non-vegetarian food and had arguments over personal matters.

“They say she committed suicide, but I don’t believe it. This is a planned murder,” Vivek Tuli said.

He further alleged that another female pilot was involved in the incident as she helped open the door of the flat without involving the police.

The police have registered an FIR based on the family’s complaint and the investigation has started.
