Farmington woman arrested for assault after investigation

A local woman has been charged with third-degree assault following an incident earlier this week, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers arrested Melinda S. Rosato, 45, at her Dale Drive home Thursday around 8:47 p.m. The arrest stemmed from an investigation into an altercation that occurred on November 26.

Authorities have not released details about the incident, but Rosato was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail. She was held for arraignment in CAP Court.

Rosato will appear in Farmington Town Court at a later date to answer the charges. The investigation into the case is still ongoing.

No further information was available Friday morning.
