One shot during an alleged shootout with Aurora police on Thanksgiving

A man was injured in a shootout with Aurora police Thursday evening as officers responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Police responded to 911 calls about shots fired in the parking lot north of Mississippi Avenue and Sable Boulevard at 9:25 p.m. This was reported by the Aurora Police Department.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., officers observed a man near Sable and Kentucky Drive holding a handgun who matched witnesses’ description.
