Four boys kidnapped in attack in Ayod County
Four boys were kidnapped by armed assailants in Jonglei state’s Ayod County on Monday evening, authorities said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Ayod County Commissioner James Chuol Jiek said the children belong to the same family and that they were kidnapped while they were eating.
“The incident took place in Kwach-Deng Payam. They are 3, 3, 4 and 6 years old and all belong to the same family. The attackers attacked their house and took them away while they were having dinner,” he said.
The District Commissioner accused armed Murle youths from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) of involvement in the attack and urged GPAA to help them get them back.
GPAA Information Minister Jacob Werchum Jouk said they were not aware of the incident and had yet to investigate.
