Thanedar to file complaint with Detroit police: “This is not an isolated incident”

Thanedar told the outlet he would file a complaint with Detroit police, saying “this is not just an isolated incident” in reference to anti-Israel protesters who disrupted a Christmas party last year in December at a club near Wayne State University.

A few months ago, protesters were also seen outside Thanedar’s house as they made noise and even knocked on his door, scaring his wife.

The Indian congressman notably criticized the Democratic Socialists of America for not having forcefully denounced the brutality of Hamas.

Stressing that “war never solves any problem,” he said the terrorist organization Hamas should be dismantled to the point where it can no longer commit such acts of violence.

“I have never hesitated to speak out about it,” he stressed, adding that “(But) such vandalism, creating such fear among my supporters… is not going to bring sympathy to their cause.”

The congressman further said that graffiti would be removed from the building, which he said is used for seminars, community events and panel discussions.

Thanedar fights against rising Hinduphobia in the United States

Earlier this year, Thanedar joined a group of Hindu leaders and organizations in an effort to raise their voices against the rise in hate crimes against the community.

“We see a lot of Hindu phobia. We see California SB403 (the bill banning caste discrimination), and that’s just the beginning. The attacks on our temples and the attacks on Hindus all over the world. This is one of the reasons why I decided to form the Hindu Caucus,” Thanedar said.
