In Trump case, judge plans to jail Trump

NEW YORK (Reuters) – The judge in Donald Trump’s criminal trial said on Monday he would consider prison time for the former president for further violations of the silence order, after finding that fines of $1,000 $ had no deterrent effect.

Judge Juan Merchan Merchan, who already fined Trump $9,000, said during the hearing that he would find Trump in contempt of court for the 10th time.
