Darwin Nunez fuels shock Liverpool exit rumors with clear warning over Arsenal and Chelsea transfer

Darwin Nunez has sparked shocking rumors about his future at Liverpool after deleting all his posts about his time at the club on social media. The striker was named on the bench in the Reds’ 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday before replacing Luis Diaz at 4-1 in the 75th minute.

Nunez has scored 18 times for Liverpool this season and assisted a further 13 times, but the quality of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking options means he has been in and out of the team. Since leaving Benfica in 2022, the Uruguay international has scored 33 goals in total for England but has often been criticized for his lack of composure in front of goal.

Now, following the win over Spurs, Nunez has sparked rumors about his Premier League future by deleting all his Liverpool-associated posts from Instagram. A quick look at his profile shows that only his in-action posts with Uruguay and Benfica remain.

It is not yet clear why the striker chose to ax his Liverpool-related posts, although it comes after Barcelona were linked with a shock move for him. With changes expected at Anfield with Klopp’s departure, Nunez’s potential exit could leave Arsenal and Chelsea scrambling with their own transfer plans.

Both teams will likely be in the market for a new striker for next season, with Mikel Arteta and Mauricio Pochettino looking to strengthen their attack. However, if Liverpool sell Nunez, they themselves will be in the same market for a new number nine this summer.

Mohamed Salah’s uncertain future means Liverpool could be in desperate need of new attacking reinforcements. Unfortunately for Arsenal and Chelsea, they could face unwanted competition for one of their targets.
