Buses vandalized with pro-Palestinian messages

Last week’s pro-Palestinian protest messages weren’t limited to UW-Madison’s Library Mall.

Madison police are investigating an incident in which 27 school buses belonging to First Student were marked with black spray paint with messages of support for Palestinians, amid Israeli attacks in Gaza in response to Hamas attacks from October 7.

It’s one of 27 buses tagged with black spray paint last week at First Student, located near Beltline and Rimrock Road.

The buses were parked in a parking lot at First Student, located just north of the Beltline and west of Rimrock Road. Messages included “Liberate Palestine” and “End the war!!”

The acts of vandalism are believed to have occurred between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. First Student told police the damage was estimated at “several thousand dollars.”
