Hawaii Fans Furious Over Canceled Show’s ‘Cruel’ Ending

Hawaii Fans Furious Over Canceled Show’s ‘Cruel’ Ending

NCIS: Hawaii fans are lamenting the series’ cancellation after seeing how the series ended.

Last month, it was revealed that CBS, shortly after canceling a long-running series Blue blood, had decided to remove the NCIS spin-off. The decision was not taken lightly by viewers.

The timing of the cancellation – two weeks before the end of the show’s third season – particularly angered fans who feared the series would not provide a satisfying conclusion.

As the finale of the police procedural series aired on Monday, May 7, those fears were realized when the episode ended on a giant cliffhanger.

*Spoilers follow – you have been warned*

Everything seemed to be going well when the episode featured a farewell of sorts for the main ensemble, in the form of a surprise party thrown for Jane (Vanessa Lachey).

The characters, including Sam (LL Cool J), Ernie (Jason Antoon), Jesse (Noah Mills), Lucy (Yasmine Al-Bustami), and Kai (Alex Tarrant), all toast each other before getting back to work.

However, the episode doesn’t end there.

An additional scene sees Jane return home to find her old mentor Maggie (Julie White) waiting for her with an ominous message: “Janie, you’re probably going to need a drink next.”

This cliffhanger angered fans who were already upset about the show’s cancellation, because they will never know what Maggie was about to say to Jane.

“This isn’t #NCISHawaii ending like this after a strike shortened season and cancellation,” one frustrated fan wrote, with another adding: “What kind of ending was that!!! It’s so cruel to fans.

“When you finish something, it’s supposed to be done and everyone moves on, but it didn’t get finished!! As a fan I can’t leave the show, I will always wonder what was supposed to happen next.

One angry fan said: “Leaving fans with this cliffhanger is simply wrong, at least bring him back with the answer to the question. »

However, some fans remained motivated to fight for the series’ renewal, writing, “A happy ending would be sad, it would be resignation and almost acceptance but… the cliffhanger motivates us to keep fighting because the story of #NCISHawaii is not over and there is more to say LET’S FIGHT! #SaveNCISHawaii.
